Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society
About Us

Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1973 to encourage improvement in Agriculture, Horticulture, Homemaking and Quality of Life in the Community. Beginning with the construction of the Agrena, the society went on to host the AgraFair, a popular annual summer festival, which became one of the largest agricultural fairs in Western Canada.
When the grain elevator was marked for demolition, the Agricultural Society stepped in to preserve the building as a working museum. Since 1995, several thousand visitors have toured the elevator to learn how grain farmers delivered crops to the elevator which would eventually end up as food on your table!
The society continues to host numerous annual community events, sponsor the Farmers Market and Archives. Currently, the goal is to build an Elevator Emporium, a building which will serve as a major tourist and heritage facility for the City of Spruce Grove.
