2012 Summary
The 2012 summer season was a great success. Area residents proudly brought their visitors to the elevator for a glimpse into Alberta’s agricultural past. From May until September 2012 over 3 500 visitors from around the world and Canada visited the Grain Elevator site, including Farmers’ Market and the Spruce Grove Archives; over 600 visited the Grain Elevator Museum to see the inner workings of this massive machine. Volunteers and society members worked tirelessly for the organization, contributing significantly to cultural and historical programs offered in this community, but our success depends greatly on the generous support of local residents, organizations and businesses. On behalf of The Spruce Grove & District Agricultural Society, I would like to extend a huge thank you for the generous support and participation at our summer fundraising events. We hope that along with you, we can make the Grain Elevator site an international tourist destination, cultural and historical centre.
