
Spruce Grove Community Garden

The Spruce Grove & District Agricultural Heritage Society is supporting the Spruce Grove Agriculture Community Garden located at 455 King Street, Spruce Grove.
We believe the Community Garden is a way of providing opportunity to focus on proper nutrition, physical activity, socialization while addressing the generational knowledge gap through programs.
We are looking for donations, volunteers and garden plot renters. With your help, we can ensure our gardens are operated at the highest level. The Spruce Grove & District Agricultural Heritage Society is a registered non-profit charity.

Celebrating Diversity Project
The City of Spruce Grove has partnered with the Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Heritage Society to use a plot in the Community Garden to plant traditional foods from the diets of four different ethnic groups; Latin American, Asian, European and African. Gardeners 65+ are mentoring youth in planting, growing, maintenance, and harvesting of plot #46. A recent graduate from the U of A’s Nutrition and Food Sciences program has volunteered to provide examples of multicultural recipes that can be made with produce from the plot. The community is encouraged to harvest produce and herbs throughout the summer and test out the delicious recipes!
